Key facts & challenges
- Summary

The new school facility will provide further space to the existing school, with the construction taking place on the site of a former engineering works, within the grounds of the current school. - Installation Description
- "In terms of noise we don’t have to sort large cutting stations, which are going to create noise and dust issues, we are a very tight site with lots of neighbouring properties around here so these are all considerations we had when choosing the board itself."
- Installation
- Weather Defence is an Euroclass A1 Non- Combustible external sheathing board which is the highest classification for reaction to fire, for a building product. [Weather Defence™](https://www.siniat.co.uk/en-gb/products-and-systems/products/external-boards/weather-defence/) being non-combustible reduces the potential for the horizontal spread of fire between adjacent properties, especially on this project where properties are only several feet away from the new building. With technical support from a Siniat Technical Specification Manager, the solution of combining Weather Defence with a Siniat 15mm A2 rated Internal Universal board, BAM achieved a 60 Minute fire rating for the through wall, which met the criteria recommended by the District Fire Officer, to reduce potential horizontal spread of fire.
